Separation
The Window of the Unreachable
In this piece from the Barrier Collection, the concept of boundaries evolves into a reflection on distance and perception. Separation portrays the rift between visions, cultures, and lives that, while coexisting within the same visual space, remain confined to their own worlds. The rug’s structure acts as a window to the world: the two textile blocks observe and mirror each other across the central fault, yet their offset architecture prevents a final union. Here, the barrier is not just an obstacle but an existential condition of otherness, where proximity never translates into oneness. It is a visual narrative on incommunicability and the threshold, an invitation to look beyond one's own section to recognize the existence of the other, even while facing the impossibility of crossing the very limit that makes us both unique and isolated.

Features
Features
The collection features an asymmetric, multi-level construction composed of two textile blocks offset both vertically and horizontally. This modularity creates an irregular silhouette that breaks traditional geometric boundaries. The surface alternates fine horizontal ribbed textures with bold, rhythmic line patterns for visual depth. A prominent central band in high, plush pile serves as the axis of both union and separation, introducing a significant tactile and volumetric contrast against the flatter base weave. The outer edges are finished with dense, handcrafted fringes, adding a dynamic, artisanal detail to the overall architectural design.
